Wellness was the furthest thing from my mind until the day I was diagnosed with generative rheumatoid arthritis in my spine along with herniated disc in my lumbar area 2007. Months leading up to my emergency diagnosis I was experiencing sharp pains that created immobility but I kept pressing forward learning to live with the pain. The morning of my diagnosis, I sat up in the bed and swung my legs over the side of the bed and went to stand up. The pain was so excruciating, I shrieked and hollered in pain. I couldn’t stand up, I became terrified and I panicked.

I was rushed to the emergency room, where medical staff ran several test on me to determine what was creating so much pain. The ER doctors asked about my family health history, along with the test results they made a firm decision that I was suffering from arthritis, which has devastated my family. Along with the diagnosis, the doctors strongly stated, ” the arthritis is so degenerative that by the time I reach my mid-thirties, my walking would begin to fail, and I would lose mobility.” The doctor recommended surgery and/or physical therapy. I felt like I received a death sentence and I could no longer hear the doctor talking, I heard a voice in my head say, “the only thing that is hereditary, is your lifestyle…change your lifestyle”.
This began my journey to wellness. I wanted my body back and I was going to do what it took to achieve that. I declined the surgery as an option for me, and began physical surgery; which was very difficult. Never did the doctors mention I could lose weight. I weighed, 240lbs. I continued therapy and learned about fasting and cleansing and got educated on how food affects my health. I was dedicated for 10-months to fasting, cleansing and good diet and the side effects were: weight loss of 95lbs, more energy, clear mind, positive disposition and a strong desire to share wellness with others,
